TRACE project technical partners (AIT) and socio-legal research partners (Coventry University and VICESSE) met at the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna on the 29 July 2022.

At this meeting, AIT presented the infrastructure and hardware of the TRACE technical /AI solutions. In addition, a demonstration of the use and development of technological / AI solutions of the TRACE project in various scenarios (e.g. terrorist financing in dark-web, illicit money flows and transactions in surface-internet) was provided. These activities instigated questions and exploration of further use cases of the AI solutions as well as the limitations of the current technological state of the art.

The meeting has enabled socio-legal partners to have a better understanding of the use and usability of AI informed data analysis in action rather than as a merely theoretical concept. This led to a discussion on how TRACE solutions can be best optimised for LEAs and user interface for forensic practitioner ought to be designed.

The partners also had an opportunity consider the progress of deliverables and discuss and agree further steps.
